Early the other morning, I caught these shots of our new young hunter through the window from inside the house. Magnus, our six-month-old Manx kitten, has stepped up to the job of keeping the rodent population in check. Good job Magnus!

Thanks, Laura. Our other kitties are 19 and 16. The 19-year-old has slowed a bit. Magnus joined us a few months back, we hoped he would pick up the slack. We live in the middle of a field and really appreciate our cats!

Good thing! This growing kitten eats a lot. He’s already larger than our other cats. The shelter said he’s a Manx-Maine coon cross, and the vet thought he might grow to about 20 lbs.

20lbs is a huge cat!

Yes! I agree. Ours have always been 6-8 pounders. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Great capture, to both you and Magnus….cool name for a cat 😀

His name was chosen for the last Viking ruler to conquer the Isle of Man, the origins of the Manx cat. Tim researched the name.

We appreciate our neighborhood cats…mousers and even a few ratters. What a great face Magnus has, and such grace in motion. (K)

We hope as he gains in experience and size that he can also take on gophers and voles in the garden.
