Such civilized dogs! How do you teach them not to eat the birds?
My Malinois would enjoy these birds too….it wouldn’t take her long at all to enjoy them👹

Bred for the job. We also train with birds and the dogs learn to carry a live bird back to us. The goal is to develop a soft mouth. Sailor has even fetched a few of our chickens. We start them off as puppies. A retriever loves to carry things in it’s mouth. I imagine, without the training, they’d likely enjoy a good meal. 😉

Beautiful photos – beautiful dogs! I remember eating pheasant once and it was delicious! Unfortunately, I don’t remember how we cooked it.
